EPI-HAB was started in 1958 by a group of business and medical professionals who volunteered their time and efforts to form a company “to provide employment opportunities for individuals with epilepsy.” EPI-HAB’s emphasis remains the same, focusing on the ability, not the disability.

Torrey Rogers – President

Taking over the role of president in 2019, Torrey is relatively new to the job but not new to EPI-HAB. He’s previously served as the organization’s controller and executive director as he transitioned into the role.

A native of Sheridan, Wyoming, Rogers transferred from Sheridan Community College to attend DeVry University Phoenix where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.

In 2011, Rogers applied for the controller position at EPI-HAB and instantly connected with EPI-HAB’s mission of providing meaningful employment for individuals with epilepsy and other challenges. “Taking the job was an easy decision,” Rogers said.

His roles within the organization have provided significant experience and expertise in building collaborative partnerships and developing ways to move the business forward.

John North – Controller

As EPI-HAB’s controller, John is tasked with directing all of EPI-HAB’s financial accounting operations. His responsibilities include maintaining fiscal records, establishing and maintaining budgetary controls and preparing and filing various financial and regulatory reports.  John is also responsible for the planning, managing, training and maintenance of EPI-HAB’s PC-networked computer system, including the software.  Additionally, John serves as the principle liaison to the external auditor. John is originally from Western Washington.  He received his degree in Accounting from Central Washington University.  After spending five years in Virginia, he came to Phoenix to warm up.
